In 1964, Indian politician & MP Ram Manohar Lohia was removed from an American "Whites only" café in Jackson, Mississipi. After launching a Satyagraha in response, the US State Department promptly apologized. He responded "Apologize to the Statue of Liberty, which supposedly represents freedom"
