Follow up: My apartment smells like paint nearly a YEAR after it was painted!

The rest of the building doesn't smell, nor does our bedroom. Only our living room and entryway, which were the areas that were painted.

There are definitely things that would prolong or even prevent it fully curing. Most paints take a month or more for a full cure. The comments saying it's cured because it's dry are wrong, drying and curing are different processes. One example would be if there's too much colorant in paint it won't fully cure, even after years. If the color transfers onto a rag with or without water, that would be a strong indicator. I'm curious what kind of paint it is and what it's painted over. I put primer on the inside of a cupboard like 4 or more years ago and I can still smell it. Also I think some paints just never lose that smell. If it's still an issue I'd recommend cleaning the walls really good with tsp or something similar, put odor blocking primer (water based) on, then use a zero voc paint that isn't very glossy. It's also possible that it's not the paint/primer but something on the wall or the wall itself. There are some spackling/joint compound/plaster/texturing ect that smell a lot like paint.
