Buying off roster guns before moving to CA

Alright, here’s what I’m thinking: one Glock 19.5, one complete AR pistol (with Maglock and Kingpin to comply with CA regulations), and a few sets of lower receivers for future builds or sales through PPT. After some research, it seems that bringing stripped lowers into CA and registering them as semi-auto pistol frames is becoming increasingly difficult, with many applications being rejected recently. They often ask for photos or outright deny the registration. If I have one complete AR pistol, I can swap the lowers and provide photo evidence. I’m not trying to jump to conclusions after only a few hours of research but does this sound like a solid plan or do you see any flaws in it regarding getting the lowers registered?

Thanks a lot for the replies. Wow, I didn’t know off-roster guns were this desirable. My concern was whether (God forbid) I ever need to use a gun for self-defense, if there could be any legal complications for using an off roster gun. All these comments have been an eye opener for me, but at the same time, it’s concerning to think about the extensive restrictions if I end up enjoying guns as a hobby.
