I’m someone who doesn’t enjoy weed, and often finds lots of the related stimulations to be unpleasant. BUT I think it can help a lot of folks with autism, and that I don’t have a problem with people using it to feel better. If it helps you, use it (with caution ofc)

You've got an interesting range of perspectives here OP. I don't really see myself reflected though which is vaping through a sizable bowl every two or three weeks, a pattern I kicked off at around 23/24 when I intentionally bought a strain (Vanilla Kush, an indica) off the darknet after researching despite not having had proper experiences smoking before. Partaking solo back then, but nowadays with my wife (who has ADHD), and it was an important part of how we bonded. At the start I would smoke a bowl then lie back with music and enjoy the feeling of time dilation, and suddenly the 2 day weekend which could feel overly short felt like a week off work.

Dude it's so interesting you bring up getting stoned to a 10 then feeling refreshed for some time after. I've been trying to describe the feeling and it does feel like a nice dopamine bath & reminder for my body of how to relax ("it's not that serious" is a phrase that's helped me ease anxiety and cyclical thinking). I think I may resort to cbd tincture in the mornings to prepare myself for the day and more selectively smoke weed.

I'm in a similar place, working on making sense of the way I navigate the world because i didn't realize how different it was from most neurotypical folks. Every single one of my partners has mentioned that I may be autistic, but it turns into a little joke usually. I'm a musician so it's "normal" for us to have quirks. I just started reading "Unmasking Autism" by Devon Price and it has already helped me to start accepting myself and helped in trying to accommodate myself rather than "crack the code" on socializing, making friends, and getting out of this loop that is my day to day life.

I've had a similar experience but with different signs and symptoms. I've been really good at observing and mirroring people to do what is considered normal in scenarios, but as soon as situations get too complex I remove myself. I hate hanging out in large groups cause I can't exactly follow. My older brother is autistic and I see myself in him but in a more mild manner, so I kind of have ignored it. My therapist recently recommended I try reading the book "Unmasking Autism" by Devon Price and it has changed my life in a week. I'm giving myself grace for the pervasive struggles I've had in adulthood like making friends and being "stuck in a loop" eating the same foods daily and really only caring about my special interests. I'm going to get tested next week for adhd and autism. You are 100% valid in your feelings and I'd recommend doing the same. You aren't alone and who knows, once you're properly accommodated things can change!
