Differentials (SPH L:-0.25; R:-0.5). Is Diopter Ratio way too big?

Hi everyone, I got my first pair of differentials this week but later today discovered the topic of Diopter Ratio by Jake. Now, I wonder if my calculations were wrong.

My current Normalized SPH:

Left: -1.0; Right: -1.25; Percentage difference: 22%

My new Differentials:

Left: -0.25; Right: -0.5; Percentage difference: 66%

I needed glasses for a little bit far away than close up which was ~110cm = ~1diop. So I just subtracted that value from my full prescription (SPH L:-1.25; R:-1.5) values.

But it seems that I introduced a diopter ratio difference almost triple as big from what my eyes used to?

Would -0.25 both eyes be a better choice for differentials in this case?

Thank you.
