what’s the difference between selling your body and providing a service?

i recently made a post on this subreddit about my camming schedule and how hectic it is at times because i’m essentially selling my body after all and i ended up receiving several comments implying that camgirls don’t sell their bodies, instead we provide a service.

to an extent this makes sense, but since we’re appearing on the internet for pornographic purposes to make money, is that not the same as selling our bodies? obviously we aren’t prostitutes, but i always believed us to be in the same category. i’m confused and would love to be enlightened.
