My mother is using my credit cards and it's messing with my budgeting.. what would you do?
Needing some advice - I recently started using YNAB and am already loving it. However, I'm running into an issue with my mother being an authorized user on a few of my credit accounts and it's messing with my budgeting. I initially gave her 2 credit cards to use so that she can purchase groceries or go shopping as she's retired and I wanted to thank her for raising me. However, since then I've moved out having to fund for myself and she has started to use my credit for bigger purchases such as medical expenses, gifts for other people, and treating others out which skyrockets my balance. She ends up paying me back for most of her purchases but only does so right before my payment due date. My original intention was for her to use the card on necessary purchases without expecting her to pay me back, but I can't afford nor budget to plan for her purchases which can increase my balance by upwards of 2k in a given month.
I can budget in the beginning of the month and track all my purchases to a t, and then a few days later I'll see some big purchase she's made which I did not plan for. I know that in YNAB methodology, I shouldn't be budgeting for money that I don't have regardless of if it's me buying, but I just don't really know what to do at this point. I'm young in my career and trying to build a healthy emergency fund and really prioritize my savings. Would there be some kind of workaround where I can still budget and not feel demoralized?
