Too pure for the Yakuza, ultimately two different paths

After beating Judgment for the first time last week, absolutely amazing btw, might just be peak yakuza, I’ve come to notice the internal struggle of both of these characters feel very much alined. Both teetering on the edge to either be loyal to the family, or loyal to your friends. The scene where Nishikiyama aims a gun at Kiryu is exactly the same as Matsugane demanding Higashi to pick his side. Higashi made the choice right to him because he had the support of Yagami and Kaito. Nishikiyama without Kiryu made him fall. Sad seeing it come to an end in Yakuza 1
