What do you score these games?

I see a lot of people outraged by the idea that ign often gives Yakuza a 7/10 but like I just don't see why that's such a crazy score to give them.

I feel like a 9 or a 10/10 is like a genre defining game, something that either redefines it's genre or it is the culmination of all the things that make a genre good. I also tend to expect a level of refinement and polish that most games don't have.

I think what makes yakuza great Is the variety of content, and the quantity of it. It really allows you to feel like you've gone on a journey with these characters and watched them change over a long period of time.

But each individual game, well I wouldn't describe the writing in these games as incredible, it's like a good action movie plot when done right.

And the combat, when it works its cool and flashy, but it's not really the deepest most complex combat experience

If I'm being real, if I'm trying to critically think what I'd score the games in the series a 7 or an 8 sounds about right, at the very least it does not seem to crazy to me how someone could score the game a 7
