Will BJJ in the offseason hurt my son’s wrestling (hear me out)?

I have seen multiple examples of kids who did BJJ first being unable to adapt well to wrestling. They have what I like to refer to as BJJ hips where their natural tendency is to curl their hips under instead of splaying out into a good wrestling base. My son who is a strong JV wrestler (14-4) wants to try BJJ in the offseason. My personal feeling is that because he wrestled first, he will have no problems regaining proper wrestling form next season. Does anyone have experience with switching back and forth between disciplines?
