Does lore matter?
Does lore matter, I always wondered what is the consensus on the un-importance of lore in the witcher. Do you say lore restricts storytelling oppertunities and therefore lore should be liberable, if so is any creative decision allowed to enhance the story?
Or does lore matter for you, as being important for the consistency of worldbuilding, investment in being immersed in the game? Or is lore irrelevant for being immersed in the world? Should there be a fine line which is to be drawn which lore changes are allowed and which not.
Or are you rather neutral and think lore in itself is overrated and overemphasized?
So what do you all think about the importance of lore for the witcher in general, does it matter? If lore matters, then please explain for which reasons, if lore does not matter for which reasons? I would be curious to hear some thoughts about this. I am not making this post about any specific kind of lore changes, it is more a general question of how lore should be overall handled, should it be restricted or expanded? Does being sticky to the lore or being liberal with the lore, from what does storytelling benefit more and what are your thoughts on lore for you personal overall inside and outside of the aspect of storytelling?
