ITAW for "keen, but not supernatural, skills honed to the sharpest of edges"?

Sorry, I couldn't think of how else to phrase the title but with that line (quoted from Terry Pratchett's book "I Shall Wear Midnight"). Essentially, I'm wondering if there's a word for something that might initially seem somehow supernatural or mystical, due to being uncommon and/or difficult to see how it was done, but is actually just a learned skill (or generally just "not actually magic")?

In the book I took this quote from, the character who says it is referring to her ability to apparently "read people's minds". Another example that comes to mind might be Sherlock Holmes (particularly as depicted by Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock). His perceptiveness, quick/complex reasoning, and ability to predict likely outcomes can seem almost magical-- but he's not magical, just very intelligent and practiced at solving difficult puzzles. ITAW for any sort of trait/phenomenon that could be described this way?
