Does this dress look okay on me?

I always thought I would get an A-line dress but as I’ve learned, when you go dress shopping with multiple people, you get a lot of different opinions. I’m a bit of a people pleaser so when I tried on this dress, they were wowed and told me it was the one. I did feel comfortable in it and at the time I tried it on, I definitely felt like it could be the one too because I saw that it accentuated my body, but I was also never one to wear form fitting dresses. I felt pressured to make a decision that day because there was an extra discount on the dress so I bought it and its final sale. But now when I look at photos of me in it, I am second guessing my decision. I am hoping that after the final alterations of the dress, I will love it on me again. I don’t have the budget to get another dress. I just need some reassurance that the dress looks okay. Also, what shapewear do you ladies recommend for dresses like this?
