FIA WEC 2025 Entry List Predictions 1/2 Hypercar

So it's time to start putting together the puzzle for the 2025 season. We certainly already know that we will see 40 cars on the grid. We will start with Hypercars where we can expect 20-22 cars for the full season depending on how the situation develops.

What we can already be sure of is Cadillac with Hertz Team Jota, Aston Martin operated by Heart of Racing, Peugeot TotalEnergies, Fabryka Alpine, Porsche Penske, BMW with the WRT team, Ferrari of course with AF Corse and Toyota Gazoo Racing. Of course, each factory with two cars, plus 2 private teams, a yellow Ferrari AF Corse #83 and certainly one Porsche Proton with a good chance of 2 cars from the German team. This already gives us 18 Hypercars that we will 100% see next year, unless there is an earthquake.

What is a big question mark is the Lamborghini Iron Lynx program, which is currently a really big unknown. The remaining options that we can see in the upcoming season but are not certain are the return of Isotta Fraschini with two cars, they would have to find another partner team unless there are plans to return to Vector Sport but currently I cannot say how it will develop, but they certainly have a better chance of winning a place in the grid than Vanwall, who plans to return after a year, but in my opinion, the FIA ​​will not take them seriously due to the lack of a hybrid system, and in 2026 there is also a Hyundai Genesis that will take another 2 places, which then may pose a problem for the grid LMGT3. The remaining option is to extend the Proton program to 2 Hypercars.

In my opinion, the Acura/Honda factory program is already out of the game because if they were to join, some specific information should have appeared earlier, as well as the Toyota customer team because Toyota rather focuses only on the factory program (I would like to see more factories selling their Hypercars to customers in 2026 year, there have recently been some rumors about Hypercars in ALMS, I don't know how true it is)

So, to sum up, the peak for Hypercars in 2025 is 22 places. The FIA ​​is unlikely to take away anyone's participation in LMGT3, and there is a chance that they will add a Mercedes, which would then be a good balance between Hypercar and LMGT3. The only question marks that prevent us from setting a bid at this time are Lambo's efforts in Hypercar and GT3 and the potential entry of Mercedes. The remaining programs are already arranged.
