So frustrated with the assembly service

How has everyone’s experience been? This might be on me as I assumed when I purchased the assembly option that this would be like the experience I had with West Elm. They delivered the furniture and assembled immediately. It was great. I realized after purchasing the assembly option (for $90) that the assembly person would be scheduled to come at a later time. Okay fine. Had to select a 4 hour window which is pretty big, but fine.

This was for 2 different pieces of furniture. First one was for the 7-11am window, person cancels at 4am and I can’t reschedule until 3 days later. Person was scheduled for today and should have been here an hour ago and no word from him or Wayfair.

Other piece of furniture - the assembly person was 1.5 hours late but at least he messaged me to let me know. He put together my furniture quickly which was good, but was very rude and left an absolute mess in the room when he finished. He also reeked of BO and we had to air out the room for an hour to get the smell out, but that’s a moot point.

Anyway, this is my honest review. You are better off hiring someone from TaskRabbit or just attempting it yourself to save the headache.
