Vinted Seller Fee for Lost Package (no personal info)
I've been busy cleaning out my wardrobe for a while now, and I have quite a lot of branded clothing. Recently, I listed my jacket on Vinted due to the summer season. The jacket was still in good condition, and I managed to sell it for €600. I shipped the package, but it got lost in transit and has had the status "Arrived at sorting center" for a while now. I contacted Vinted, and they told me that I need to wait 25 working days before I can file a claim. Under the order, I see the message: "Don't worry, your order will be delivered soon. If not, you are entitled to a €25 compensation."
That can't be right, can it? I messaged Vinted about this and explained how the process should work if the package is lost. Vinted responded with: "If the parcel is declared lost, you will be compensated for the loss. For now, the parcel is still on its way."
So, I asked if I would be reimbursed the full amount, but they only replied, "You will be compensated the cost of the item."
I asked again, "Will I be compensated for the amount I sold the item for?"
They replied: "Again, you will be compensated the cost of the item once declared lost by the carrier, yes."
It's a bit unclear now, and I'd like to hear your opinions on this matter. On Vinted's website, I see that the compensation varies depending on the shipping company, which makes no sense. The buyer gets 100% back and the seller gets nothing? What are your experiences with such situations as a seller?
Who has gone through this? Does the seller get 100% of the item's sale price back, or only what the courier states as the maximum amount?
