The end of dogs tail is dead.

I need help, my dogs tail gotten very red and discolored. When I looked closer, it looked like it has lost circulation, and was on the edge of falling off. I started giving her antibiotics that I had from her last surgery to help with the infection. So I took her to the vet, when she informed me it was too late for the tip of the tail and it was dead. She said I had to get it amputated. My dog just had two surgeries in the last 4 months, between that and all the exams and medication it has been a lot financially. Can anyone tell me what they suggest I should do so I don’t have to go through other surgery ?
