Can stores print the most recent bill?

Went to a Verizon store to get a printout of my last bill, the same day after porting the last number to another carrier.

They told me they couldn't access anything on the account anymore, even though the line was ported out only an hour ago.

I got the impression it wasn't that they couldn't help me, but that they didn't want to.
