best ways to make new friends as a y1?

i’ve been finding it kinda difficult to make friends as a y1, especially after orientation.

are there any first year events/organisations/webpages i should check out? and is it weird to go for these events alone (do most people go w their friends?)

i’m thinking whether joining a hobby club or leaving the free time for first year events are better (since people say that first year is the most social year)
