Escalante cross

I feel like Escalante Cross makes the most sense to me for the first 2 lines out of anything I've thought of/heard so far. The cross is the intersection(not shortcut as most people translate it) where the choir sings. Choirs sing at the cross in a church. Also it's near the mouth of the canyon ( choirs sing from their mouths). Plus all the other connections with the video clue and Spanish and all that. But I do not understand where anyone is going from there. How does this connect to the rest of the poem? The shadow of the cross points to nothing, I don't know where the ice cream and lobster fits in if this is the start. I know lots of people have been thinking of this cross, but where does the solve go from there?
