How do u take notes?

As a first year, Im curious how to efficiently take notes during class. I have an 9th gen ipad and a laptop. Which one would be better to take notes on? I know it really depends on the class but for reference im an economics major & IS. So im guessing taking notes on my laptop would be better but ive never been the person to use a laptop to take notes, I dont really like it. Any tips & suggestions?
