I think console companies like Sony, Microsoft, and (soon to be) Nintendo that add additional features to current generation consoles, and sell them in upgraded consoles with titles like “Pro” or “Series *insert name*” should wait to add those features to their next generation console.
It just makes no sense that they add these features 2-3 years later when they either could’ve added them from the beginning or just wait to add them on their next generation consoles. They charge full price after you paid $400-$500 at launch.
I think it changes the whole “generation” title entirely and is strategic by the companies to garner more money from the consumer.
Previous consoles just changed to more sleek/slim designs, but the core graphics and gameplay pretty much stayed the same. But now they’re adding additional CPU & GPU processing features, 4K or 8K capabilities, ray tracing that operates with higher FPS (looking at you upcoming PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X v2.0).
It’s just not right IMHO.
