Picayune Post: worst food ever on UA economy HKG-SFO

Hard to think of anything less important than complaining about airplane food, but I'm both irked and amused by this experience, so ... feel free to ignore or downvote ...

Knowing how much Hong Kongers appreciate well prepared food, I was imagining that the in-flight catering departing Hong Kong would be maybe 10% better than usual (and some of the food on SFO-HKG was actually pretty good!). In actual fact, it was the nastiest garbage I've ever had on an airplane. I mean, just hideous. Capped off by, on the breakfast tray, a chocolate-frosted "donut" that was in fact made from dinner-roll bread, just shaped like a donut, cold and hard and dry with a weird flavorless plasticy brown coating on top. I mean, what is United thinking? Don't they have employees that monitor what their catering provider is putting on the planes? I know they care about "cheap" most of all, but surely there was some other "cheap" breakfast bread that they could have provided other than this bizarre, inedible donut-imposter fake out?
