Has pay improved??

I did Uber and Lyft in the Charlotte, NC market part time for over 2 years. Primarily weekend nights, event times and busy weeknights. I stopped driving about 15 months ago due to feeling like fares and incentives were going down and seemly the number of riders was going down too. I established some metrics for $/hr and $/ mile I wanted to make. I wasn’t meeting my thresholds.

I’m thinking of giving it another try. I actually enjoyed the job and liked meeting people. I’m wondering if pay is better or worse now compared to 15 months ago? Some information specific to the Charlotte market would be appreciated but any insights would be great.
