Uber Pet with my dog

I got an uber pet the other day to take my foster dog (35 lb lab/ bully type mix) to be neutered. I had a blanket with me and put it down because he is a mediumish dog that sheds.

The driver got super weird and said that the dog (who spent the whole 11 minute ride sleeping on the blanket) was aggressive looking and I shouldn't have him in an Uber. I said I was sorry, but I had selected uber pet and he was not aggressive. He told me that he had only signed up to drive cats and not dogs?!? Is that a thing? Whenever I request uber pet it never asks me if I have a cat or dog....

I understand that not everyone is a fan of the breed or might find them intimidating but why do uber pet than?
