Can Anastrozole interfere or counteract Testosterone effects?
For context, I’ve had low T since my early 30’s and I’ve been doing TRT for the last 10 years.
About 12 weeks ago my Dr prescribed me .5mg weekly anastrozole because I explained that I felt I was getting overly emotional (weepy) at stupid stuff (anytime someone on TV cries for example, it makes me get teary eyed). So I’ve been taking that.
It’s probably just coincidence, but for about the last month or so I’ve noticed that I feel like I might need an increase in my Testosterone. Generally a lot more tired and lower libido, but I’m also in my early 40’s now so that could probably have something to do with it. I’m obviously going to make an appointment and ask him this question myself, but figured I’d poke the hive here and see if anyone else has experienced anything similar.
Also, FWIW, I don’t feel that the anastrozole is actually working. I still get emotional over stupid shit.
Edit to add: should have mentioned that he DID do blood work which showed my estrogen pretty much at the highest point in the range of “normal”, any higher and it would have been outside that range, so he had no problem prescribing the Al.
