Favourite/Strongest spell caster lords?

I absolutely love spellcasters in this game, any kind of lord or hero with access to good magic is immediately becoming part of my campaign. But i find that, compared to the more melee focused lords, mages tend to fall behind. A lot of Melee lords can easily become one man doomstacks, and while Some spellcasters are pretty strong, they just never seem to get close to that level. So, i was wondering, mods included, what lords other people who enjoy spells like using? As maybe i've just been missing out on who the best ones are, or how to properly build them.
