In Ep 5 of the show

They clearly say they need to neutralize everyone on the ship without destroying the data…. So the plan they come up with is to slice the ship up, cause it to crash and explode and burn, then sift through the ruble and metal scrap. Did anyone else think this was completely idiotic?
