How hard is this game compared to BOTW?

Almost done with BOTW after just recently buying my first switch. I bought TOTK too because it was on sale, but haven’t played yet because I want to finish BOTW. However, every trailer or strategy video I see for this game makes it look hard as all hell to the point where I’m kinda scared to play it 😂. Like genuinely it looks difficult to play and has SO much new stuff/mechanisms compared to it’s predecessor. How hard was this game to catch on to for you guys?
