Suggest me some books by non-American authors!
When I reviewed my reading from 2024, I realized that a vast majority (71%) of my books last year were written by authors in the United States. A goal I’ve set for myself is to read more international authors this year.
If any of you could recommend some great reads based on my favorites, I’d greatly appreciate it! Bonus if you can explain why you’re recommending it :)
Some of my recent favorites: - A Brief History of Seven Killings by Marlon James - Hurricane Season by Fernanda Melchor - Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders - Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi - Pachinko by Min Jin Lee - ASOIAF by George R R Martin - My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell - The Green Mile by Stephen King - Stories of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang - Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh - Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica - Life Ceremony by Sayaka Murata - Winternight trilogy by Katherine Arden - Out by Natsuo Kirino - The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy
Thank you, and happy reading!
