Dying Succulent Please help

Forgive me for being so ignorant, first succulent ever. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong 🥲 I thought they’re used to being watered a lot and then left until the soil is dry before watering again.

I watered it with 0.5 L water every 1.5 weeks, except it was realistically getting 0.2L since a lot of it drained. Apparently too much sunlight was bad so I put it out maybe 4 hours a day. It grew very tall in the first couple weeks and then suddenly started rotting(?). Petals all started to brown and fall off.

Looked up a video and changed its soil and poked a hole in a water bottle cap(spraying water onto soil instead) to not overwater it & also avoided watering the leaves else it browns or becomes mushy(?). Also cut off a lot of the stem which was definitely rotting, but the bottom of the stem just keeps browning and it’s gonna reach the top. & Both leaves look very mushy still :(
