When will the devs stop nerfing the player to make the game harder?
First of all, I personally love stoneshard so much that I have 1,140 hrs on record on steam. I do adore this game. It's an amazing game that I would like to recommend to every gamer out there in the globe.
But I can't understand the hate for heavy armors from the devs themselves. To wear heavy armor, you need to invest too much in vitality, and since vitality isn't that impactful compared to other stats, people just used light armor to the endgame before rtr update came out.
After rtr, however, with 15 vitality and Custom adjustments, you could actually offset the penalty of heavy armor! And of course it got nerfed. Of course it did.
Dear devs, I don't want heavy armor to block or absorb every damage. I don't need heavy armor to cancel out every negative effects the game gives. I don't care if light or medium armor is more effective than heavy armor. I just want to wear heavy armor without worrying about the massive energy penalty it applies on the player. Why? Because the art of heavy armor in this game is so beautiful! Someone glue me to the moniter to appreciate the art and I'd just thank him for allowing me to appreciate it from even closer.
But the heavy armor wasn't the only thing got nerfed, is it? What else was nerfed? Well, let's find out, shall we?
-The base crit chance for the player got nerfed from 5 to 1 percent after the rtr update.
-The part of Custom adjustments regarding to heavy armor got nerfed.
-Brace for impact relies on stats now to use it reliably. I used to rely on that skill early game to survive, but now it's kind of hard to use it and expect to survive a heavy blow to the head.
-Peak performance and Sprint training got nerfed for no apparent reason.
-Leg sweep and Mighty kick's cooldown's got nerfed, but I suppose that's kind of fair.
-Weapon stances only lasts for 8 turns, instead of 12. Not only that, the numbers regarding to player benefits on stances got slightly lowered as well. This nerf hurts 2h maces the most, because Mighty swing takes away the turn of Striker stance, and there is no passives on the tree to prolong the effect of Striker stance to cover the turn loss caused by using Mighty swing.
-Vigor got nerfed, and the survival tree took all the buff that vigor once gave the player. I know devs want players to take survival tree skills, but the only reason that tree was getting left behind was that there simply isn't enough ability points to go around. Give players about 5 more points to spare, or hand out quests for
-No mercy used to give 25 percent extra damage, I think, but it got nerfed to 10 percent.
-No retreat got nerfed. Stay back also got nerfed from giving player 35 percent knockback to 25. I don't know why. Now that the dungeons got bigger, spears are going to have more trouble defeating foes because they can't keep enemies at bay forever, and they quite don't have the aoe skills or high damage to clear out said enemies.
-Adrenaline rush isn't quite viable on a one on one
And the list would go on and on.
Don't nerf the player. Please. Make the environment more harsh by planting traps around settlements. Buff enemies. Personally, I kind of enjoyed getting ripped to shreds by mulkstalkers even when I was armed to the teeth with heavy armor. I do love the adrenaline pumping through my veins when they crit me and leave me with a bleeding, broken arm.
I only wrote about things regarding to skills, but what else do you think was unfairly nerfed to the player? Or if you think I'm being a jerk, do point out. But don't be too harsh on me, alright? I just want to know what other people thinks.
