I'm officially a theme-before-meta deckbuilder, and I'm okay with that
I have opened 6 boxes so far, two from each set. After finally getting them all organized and put into albums, I settled down today to start building decks out of them. I build an aggro Anakin deck, a Bo Katan tribal deck, and upgraded my Grievous starter deck. And then proceeded to lose about a dozen games in a row with all three of them on Karabast. Still haven't won once.
At first I was frustrated. Then I realized I don't care that much. I'm a big star wars fan and I honestly have had the time of my life opening and organizing all the cards. I'm planning to lean into the collecting aspect and I get a huge amount of satisfaction building decks around themes like Mandalorians, droids, and clones. Hopefully I'll pick up a dub now and then playing with my cousin, but I'd rather build decks that I think are cool instead of following the meta. Also, freaking love the artwork in this game.
Anyone else playing this game for the vibes more than the competitive aspect?
