Trying to change the Prospector bags

Did anyone find a workaround to get the bags off the elevator? Someone said to bring 1 more than you need because 1 always falls through but I have 5 and they are ALL stuck in the floor. Im worried about trying to move them. Theyre back in my inventory for now.
