Think about these players not brushing their teeth and no baths so everyone stinks, not even sleeping properly due to the stress and then it impacts your performance. I get that the lives of these people was not comfortable before coming to the games and survival instincts are a thing but they are still humans and these things do have an impact on most of the players.
