Tips for gathering Shadow Plorts!

Shadow plorts are essential to exploring the Grey Labyrinth, but they can also be tricky to get. Somrtimes your aim is a but off or you can't find any at all. So, to help I've compiled some tips and tricks that have helped me in my trips to the Grey Labyrinth!

1) Come to the labyrinth with some items on hand already. Even though this leaves you with one less space in your inventory, it guarantees you have something to shoot out when you're surprised by Shadow slimes while you're out and about. I usually aim for at least 35 plorts in one slot. As for the kind to take, anything you have in abundance of works, but in my opinion the best ones to use are probably Puddle or Fire since they won't cause unwanted largos or tarr! EDIT: I've been informed that food also works to shoot at shadow slimes. In that case, it's worth it to use chickens since they reproduce fast and don't rot like crops. Puddle and Fire plorts are still good though if you don't want uninteded largos since food might be eaten by slimes and cause largos from the resulting plorts anyway. 2) Mark down any areas you find that have large spawn groups of Shadow slimes. While Shadow sliems do spawn pretty much everywhere, there are some rooma that have at least 3 or 4 areas they pop out of, like both beginning rooms in the Labyrinth. There are even a few hidden rooms that when you first find them are filled to the brim with Shadow slimes. 3) Try to farm plorts in rooms with walls or fences around. Cramped spaces or corners are perfect to farm plorts because if you fill the floor with non-shadow plorta, thes shadow slimes will keep falling and jumping down onto the items. This makes places like the sewer section of the Labyrinth perferct for Shadow plort farming. 4) Shoot first, gather later. When you first see Shadow slimes spawn, if possible, maintain distance ao they don't run immediately, and find the right angle to shoot them at. It also helps to try to stand in the exit since they usually run for it after you take the first shot, but most of the time will avoid the player. Just find a coner they spawn in, stay a safe distance away, aim, shoot, cover the floor with items, and as the slimes jump up and down, try to shoot any of them that are in the air with more plorts. Then once they all dissapear, gather up all the shadow plorts, and any of the ones you shoot so you can reuse them later. 5) Stay aware of your surroundings. It can be easy to get lost while farming shadow plorts, so make sure you stay aware of any hazards in the area before shooting at slimes. Ledges, magma, feral slimes, even just normal slimes can be dangerous because of possible largo and tarr. If needed you can always vac up any extra slimes before starting to shoot at Shadow slimes.

And thats it! Of course this isn't a foolproof method ofgfarming shadow plorts but these are the things that helped me the most, so hopefully it'll help you too. Happy ranching! 🩷
