Will there be a new skylanders game? (I'm completely delusional)

What do you guys think about the chances of a new Skylanders game? (Yes, my brain has a copium overdose.)

So, I’ve heard some rumors on Twitter about a new game, but apparently without the “toys-to-life” figures. That’s honestly sad, because the figures were such a huge part of the experience, but I guess it’s understandable. Nowadays, kids seem more interested in phones, and companies prefer microtransactions—they’re easier to sell when people lose track of how much they’re spending.

Still, there’s a glimmer of hope. Youtooz has announced they’re planning on releasing Skylanders figures, which probably wouldn’t work in the game but would be great for collectors who miss their favorite characters. It feels like they’re trying to bring back the nostalgia, at least in some form.

There’s also been a leak suggesting a release in March or April for the figures. That timing would line up nicely with the rumored launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. A new Skylanders game releasing alongside the Switch 2 could be a win-win: Skylanders games always did well on Nintendo consoles, so it’d probably boost sales for both the game and the new hardware.
On top of that, Toys for Bob announced a partnership with Microsoft earlier this year for a new “experience.” While it’s likely related to Spyro (let’s be realistic), a small part of me hopes it’s something for Skylanders—maybe a remake collection where you can revisit the older games, possibly with a new twist. What do you guys think? Could this actually happen, or am I just being way too delusional?
