Hello, ski trip to Europe

My wife and I from the US recently started skiing, we still in the very early stage of learning but we are liking it very much. We go to Europe twice or three times a year and we thought we could go ski this year. What places do you recommend? We speak Spanish, English and Portuguese. We are not trying to break the bank but we like good resorts or hotels. We’ve been to Vail, Colorado multiple times and the prices are in the high end for skiing but we want to make it more affordable.

I can’t seem to understand that we have to pay $350 a day if we want to ski. I am sure there are cheaper places in Europe.
