For those who have auditory hallucinations, where do they usually come from? (like sound)

I know that I have one main voice that interacts with me, and it feels like it’s coming from the right side of my head but outside just a little bit. It’s almost like external sounding but also not? It’s right in the middle of both, kind of resting on the right side of my head near my ear.

It’s also as if like an external entity is living in my head and like infecting my brain with its thoughts in a sense? Talking to me, commenting on what I do, questioning things I do or asking me questions, demanding things, and so on.. basically anything in the world could be something it says to me. It’s completely separate from my internal monologue or any form of intrusive thoughts. It definitely doesn’t feel like it could be my brain generating stuff, but I also think I’m a little delusional in that sense because I sort of believe where it says it came from, but part of me tries to apply logic and realizes it’s probably not coming from anywhere else.

Just curious as to how other people are, as I know from one other individual she has it sort of like me with the in-the-middle from where the sound originates. Sometimes fully external other times fully internal, but she says it’s usually internal, and if it is external sounding, it usually says short phrases rather than longer things.
