I missed a few seasons, and now everyone loves Mary unironically??

I am so confused, did we get past the part where she’s running a cult and harming her followers? Did she stop? Did she apologize? Does she still think she’s Jesus? Admittedly I did start watching because of Mary’s crazy storyline, and I’m very happy she’s still here, but surprised to see how much everyone loves her and calls her quirky now
