Any opinions on turning glass-front bookshelves into multi-enclosure set ups?

Of course they'd need some sealing/altering before they'd be able to hold anything. But I've seen both the wooden and the metal versions of these on FB marketplace in my area for under $100 and it's made me wonder if anyone has done a set up like this successfully?
