Jesus is not God (My Interpretation

This is my follow up post to my original post on this reddit. I mean this in no disrespect, but I don’t believe Jesus is god.

Context: I’m buddhist and looking into christianity

My approach: Unbiased, logical and straight read-through of the bible without any influence on thinking of interpretation. Which is how most people approach any book they read.

I spoke to a couple christian friends of mines and agreed that if the bible was logically it could be interpreted that Jesus and God are separate. But that I shouldn’t read it logically.

I’ve been told that I need to understand the trinitarian belief before reading the bible. Unfortunately, that felt like I was trying to be forced into believing something I do not.

My conclusion: God and Jesus are separate. God is God and the father of Jesus. Jesus is a man and the son of god.

Reason for a follow up: There was really only 2 “STRONG” scriptures most people used to justify Jesus being god and they were:

John 8:58 - Jesus saying “I AM” John 20:28 - Thomas says My Lord, My God

Since then I was able to compile many more scriptures proving that Jesus is not god than he is.

Buts here are the scriptures that were the strongest arguments saying he is not god.

Numbers 23:19 - States that God is not a man 1 Timothy 2:5 - States that jesus christ is a man therefore jesus cannot be god based on the previous scripture.

1 Corinthians 8:6 - This makes a distinction that there is 1 God and 1 lord Jesus. This shows that “lord” does not mean god. So arguments using lord becomes invalid.

Luke 18:18-19 - Jesus saying he is not God.

John 17:3 - Jesus affirming that people know there is only one true god and that he was sent by god.

John 17:21-23 - Jesus speaking to God

John 20:17 - Jesus saying he has a God and basically saying he is not god.

Matthew 3:17 - God is pleased with his son Jesus after being baptized

So with so many more examples stating that he isn’t god compared to him being god. Can you blame me that I think he isn’t god? Especially when Jesus himself has had conversations stating he isn’t god? And there isn’t a single scripture where he says that he is God.

I truly believe if Jesus wanted us to believe he was god. It would state it very clearly.

Right or Wrong this is just my take.
