Banned From r/LabourUK for criticising defence of child abusers
Hi Reformers, I just wanted to get some opinions from my fellow free speech lovers on how the Labour UK Subreddit has just put a rule in place whereby mentioning any kind of coverup or defence of paedophiles will get you immediately banned.
As I'm not one to sit there and scrutinise arcane and dense Subreddit rule lists, I made the mistake of going in on a wonderful post from a member of their userbase saying that because a gay ex Labour MP was caught in a sting operation trying to meet a 15 year old boy for sex recently, a surge in hate for gay men will be caused by fascist scapegoating. They went on to mention how the right has a fixation on the "phantasmic innocence of children."
I politely asked why the poster valued the feelings of adult men over victimised children, why they believed the innocence of children to be ficticious and that so far, I can't find any accounts of gay men being targeted for what's happened.
They proceeded to call me a Trump supporter and banned me for supporting in their words "venom" due to Trump appointing Matt Gaetz who they claimed to be a nonce. Whether or not the claim about Gaetz is true, I'm not sure why they're allowed to make accusations of paedophilia when that's explicitly banned under their rules but hey, that's leftist justice for you.
I just thought it was funny, hope somebody else gets a chuckle out of it too. I'm sure if we got an influx of Labour commenters here, the reception would be a bit more graceful. It's a shame to see that there's absolutely no debate or discourse to be had with the modern left in Britain. We need to be able to have open conversations again.
