Why tf was the internet so horny 2015-2018?

I feel like the internet was a much more openly horny space last decade. Not saying it was good or bad but mid-late 2010’s it felt like being ironically porn addicted was easy internet points. Especially with weebs. So many memes that boiled down to cropped hentai and rule 34 or references to that Euphoria manga. All my mutuals talking about “hornyposting on main” and spamming “for research purposes of course”. Half of instagram meme pages boiled down to saying an anime bitch was thicc or some kid wearing a hentai hoodie in public. The overwatch SFM vids were being memed on. You had gimmick rappers like MC Virgins who’s whole shtick was watching a shit ton of porn.

Now you have pearl clutching and the further normalization of no porn and semen retention. Subs like r/peterexplainsthejoke are mostly people annoyed and bored by cropped porn memes. Now the horny = funny shitposts are people making fun of gooners and shit. Everyone has a story about seeing tits on 4chan as an 8 year old or being groomed by an older woman on Skype. Definitely an interesting reversal and I wonder what exactly caused it.
