Multiple Chemical Pregnancies
Looking for advice or similar stories. My husband (25) and I (27) have been ttc for about 6 months. In that time, we have experienced 2 chemical pregnancies. It seems we get pregnant every 3rd try. I believe they only implanted for a couple days as I tested very early, got a positive and then it was negative with in a couple days. The first time, my bleeding started about a week after my period was due, the second was only a few days after it was due. We decided to do some testing, HSG, endo biopsy, hormonal testing and semen analysis. So far everything is normal, except for my husband sperm has slightly low mobility and slightly low morphology, but his overall count was very high.
With that being said, we met with our RE last night and she recommended we move to IUI or IVF. I was shocked by this and expected her to recommend a medicated cycle. My initial gut feeling was that she was trying to sell us something. My feeling is that IUI wouldn’t prevent a chemical pregnancy, and we are already getting sperm to egg on our own. IVF may be helpful because we can ensure the embryo is okay.
I did convince her to prescribe progesterone suppositories and I put myself on baby aspirin as I read so many success stories with similar situations as us. However, she sounded like she didn’t think it would do anything. Husband is also making lifestyle changes to improve sperm. But I don’t want to keep trying and end up at IVF anyway.
Any thoughts?
