I'M FUCKING DONE WITH THIS DISREPECT
(upd: yes, I inow it's a fucking scam. But the point of the post is not my reaction to this exact scam, but to vent out the frustration from two years of job search and being treated like shit during this job search)
So, two days ago I decided to post that I'm open to work on my Linkedin. I didn't do this before because "oh, it looks desperate and a red flag", but honestly I'm done with this gaslighting corporate bullshit. I just need to find a job and that's it
Just two minutes after my post, this person has reposted me asking "please write which positions you're looking for: junior, middle, senior, lead or c-level". Which is already telling, because IN THE VERY SAME POST SHE HAS REPOSTED I mentioned that I'm looking for Senior Developer positions. Then she suggested to dm her, and this vivid dialog happened
You may say that this is no big deal and this is just a regular Thursday on Linkedin. But God, I'm so tired of this bullshit! For TWO FUCKING YEARS I'm trying to find a new job because my current workplace is unstable and toxic. I had hundreds of applications, lots of interviews, reached the final stages multiple times, but didn't get any offer at all.
I feel a lot of humiliation. I'm a senior developer with 6 years of experience. I wanted to become software engineer since the very childhood, I've graduated a good uni in my home country, worked in the country of origin and abroad, speak couple of languages. And THIS is what I've got? Ghosting? Disrespect? Treating me like shit? Like someone disposable?
And speaking of "looking desperate". I have another story. About a year ago I had a dialog on linkedin with the other recruiter. We agreed to schedule a call the other day to discuss one position. He didn't call me on time, and two hours later I called him myself. He said that the reason he eventually didn't want to call me is because "you're applying to every position and this looks too desperate" citing one time when I allegedly applied to a PHP position (I'm an Android developer) listed by his agency. WHAT THE FUCK? DESPERATE? I basically escaped my country of origin just to live a more secure and stable live, starting everything from the scratch. I cannot go back for various reasons, and having a job is my only way to legally stay in this country. And you, a privileged first-world citizen, you're sitting somewhere in the City of London and preaching me about looking "too desperate?". Bitch, go fuck yourself. You never walked in my shoes to call me "too desperate"
I'm fucking done with all this crap! I don't deserve being treated like this!
Sorry for this rant, I just needed to vent this shit out.
