Does anyone else’s family tell you they notice you being abused but did nothing?

I was driving my aunt around yesterday and she made a joke about how my mom took better care of her dogs than her children. Like weird flex but okayyy. Rewind a year or two and I’m at my cousins wedding. My 2nd cousin who we just call aunt told me while I was driving us home from the venue that she knew, and she didn’t ever do anything about it. She said “you guys had it real tough”. AND YOU JUST WATCHED AND ENABLED?!? I’m just so heated from people telling me that they saw the abuse and did nothing.
