What resolution do you play games with?

I'm curious what resolutions people use to play games these days. I know when I go on YouTube I mostly see reviewers testing games at 1080p and even on the Steam Hardware Survey the most used resolution is 1080p. Oddly I heard from a lot of my gamer friends that they'd rather play 1440p high refresh rate because 1440p high refresh rate displays are a lot more reasonably priced, for FPS games it helps game play while trying to pick off your enemies because you have a clearer view distance and with the higher refresh rate you're less likely to get an fps drop that messes up your kills. I know some people that play 4k because they love the extreme detail and don't need to go over 60fps get a playable experience. These are just some examples from people I've chatted with so what resolution do you play at and what's your reasons why?
