Help A Young Prepper Begin Their Journey :)

To start things off I am 18, and my family could really care less for things like this so it just me and can of ambitions. Though I haven’t replied to any OPs here I have long lurk through this Sub spending hours sifting through all the different advices that people give and seeing which advice is always consistently given meaning (probs super important). And searching for those golden nuggets of advice.

So by any means please let me know how I am doing or if theirs any advice you can add on for me because in reality “we are only really prepared until we aren’t”

For context I live in Canada and mainly try to prep for Tuesday but am also hoping to prep expand to prepping for doomsday. So please be reasonable but also thoughtful thanks much I appreciate you all

So from what I understand some golden rules are

  1. Water, water , water , water ( wether it be storage, purification, stored water, etc)

  2. Financially readiness( often undermined as a prep) but being financially prepared for the stuff life throws at you should be a must .

  3. Prep for normal everyday inconveniences relevant to your location , car breakdown, snowstorm, power outages, etc.

  4. For food #10 cans are peak and I should aim for 3-6months with considerations to Rotating food in and out

  5. Quality over quantity for tools and medical equipment , and quantity for foods.

6.back up important documents ( banking , ids, etc)

  1. Know the basics or else end up as a walking cash cow/ temporary raider storage / loot box

  2. Bug in before you bug out

Lemme know what I missed and what I can do to improve
