Winter baby labor prep

Hey guys! If you are having your baby this winter or have had a baby in the winter can you help me please.

I live up north and right now it’s 30 degrees, baby is suppose to be due next month and usually it’s a lot colder in January so I’m expecting it to hit the 20s and a lot of snow.

  • how did you dress your baby when going home? I have picked out a onesie with a pair of pants and a light long sleeve, since I know my husband will warm the car up before hand. Should I put him in something warmer? I’ll also bring a beanie for him too with mittens.
  • I have a winter snow, rain and wind shield/cover for the car seat my mom got us from Amazon.
  • I’ll bring a blanket too, to put over him
  • what temp did you keep your house? I have a fear of him overheating once I heard “cold babies cry and hot babies die”
  • we have a tone of zip up onsies for home, not many “warm” going out outfits bc we quite literally won’t be going anywhere the first month (any errands my husband will run).
  • if we wanted to take baby for a walk with our dog just up the street and get fresh air in the case that it’s a little warmer out (aka sun is shining so it doesn’t feel freezing) should we buy a winter jacket for him? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Any advice on overall winter babies would be very helpful! I’m just a little nervous and I have 6 weeks left!
